ARMSTRONG SPALLUMCHEEN HEALTHCARE AUXILIARY

BURSARY AWARD – HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS

MATURE POST-SECONDARY STUDENT

A bursary in the amount of $2,000 is provided to mature person entering a post-secondary healthcare program.

Read through the bursary criteria below to determine eligibility and the documentation required to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Individual has been out of school for a period of time and wishes to pursue an education leading to work in the healthcare field;
  2. Enrolling in a healthcare program at an accredited post-secondary institution;
  3. Permanent resident of Armstrong, Spallumcheen or Enderby;
  4. Volunteering or paid activity and/or demonstrated natural aptitude in the healthcare field.

Documentation Required:

  1. Copy of registration or application to a healthcare program at an accredited post-secondary institution;
  2. Letter stating:
    1. Proposed career goals in healthcare field;
    1. Interests, volunteer activities;
    1. Employment history, especially in healthcare, and;
    1. Description of education completed.
  3. Letter of reference supporting application;
  4. Documentation indicating permanent residency in Armstrong, Spallumcheen or Enderby.

Selection and Payment:

  1. Applications must be submitted by June 30th;
  2. Applicants will be interviewed before selection;
  3. Only successful candidates will be advised of selection;
  4. The successful candidate has until December 31st to enroll.  A copy of proof of enrollment from the institution must be submitted to receive payment.
